Clinic Score

Progyny’s mission is to ensure that our members have a timely, healthy, and supported fertility journey. Progyny members have access to the most sought-after clinics in the US. All of the providers in our network have been invited to join after meeting a rigorous set of performance standards. We work closely with our providers and clinics to ensure that our members receive exceptional care and we measure our clinic’s results.

The four metrics which determine the clinic’s composite score include:

Live Birth Rate per Attempted Retrieval
Demonstrates effectiveness of the provider and embryology lab to create embryos successfully, an important component of achieving a live birth.
Live Birth Rate per Transfer
Demonstrates effectiveness of the clinic’s ability to transfer an embryo successfully, an important component of achieving a live birth.
Multiples Rate
Demonstrates the clinic’s ability to minimize the number of embryos needed to achieve a live birth.
Single Embryo Transfer Rate
Demonstrates the clinic’s ability to reinforce to patients that the safest and healthiest way to practice IVF is with the transfer of a single embryo.

What our Clinic Scores Indicate

  • A score of 4.0 or higher indicates that the clinic has met a rigorous set of performance standards to be included in Progyny’s high-performing network. All clinics in the Progyny network have achieved at least a 4.0.

  • A score of 4.5 indicates that the clinic has also achieved a composite score within half a standard deviation of the average within Progyny’s high-performing network.

  • A score of 5.0 indicates that the clinic has also achieved a composite score above the average within Progyny’s high-performing network.

  • A pending score indicates that the provider has met all of Progyny’s rigorous standards for inclusion but this clinic location is new and clinic score is not yet assigned.


Please note: Patient medical characteristics, such as age, diagnosis and ovarian reserve, affect the success of ART treatment. The Progyny clinic score does not indicate the success that any individual patient will have at that clinic.
